It is ethical to have customer data, although some customer might call this a privacy theft it’s up to businesses how they satisfy their customer, but the study of customer relationship says that if the business are open and trustworthy so they can gather and save customer data. Customers also get happy if they see that business has the ability to predict what they want.Businesses use customers information to create innovation in the existing product, introduce new product and it also lead them to maximize their profit and to compete with their competitor. Businesses collect data from a number of platform like questionnaire, surveys feedback and etc. and store it so it’s easy for a manager to predict what customer want.Online collection of data is easy if the companies are trustworthy.
What are the ethics and legal rules of having customer data?
Transparency is necessary while collecting data ,the data they are collecting will not be transferred to any other party or will not be used illegally, data must be transmitted to a secure database, the sensitive information of customer data must be protected like their email address their atm, debit card numbers their location, no forced data must be collected by the customer.Customer must have access to the data which has been collected by the companies,and also have control to how their data is being used,once the use of data is finished company must delete the data so that no other party can use it. There must be an option for customer to say no if they are not interested to give their information
